Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper - Food Services
Position available beginning immediately.

POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/BOOKKEEPER – FOOD SERVICES – Class I
REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR OF FOOD SERVICES, SUPERVISOR OF FOOD SERVICES AND DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS
WORK YEAR: 12 Month (July 1 through June 30)
JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITY: To provide full administrative assistant and bookkeeping functions as assigned by the Supervisor of Food Services in a professional, confidential manner. To assist the Supervisor of Food Services in maintaining an office that is responsive to all food service needs within the Souderton Area School District. Must be able to maintain a cooperative, congenial and service-oriented atmosphere within an environment with frequent interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; knowledge of approved accounting procedures; proficiency with clerical and office procedures; experience with software applications; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; proven organizational skills; demonstrable communication skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare payroll and maintain related records for food service employees
- Enter daily sales and meal counts, deposits, catering income, invoices, and credits into food service financial database
- Establish and maintain appropriate bookkeeping procedure relative to the Food Service Department bank accounts, point of sale and online payment system.
- Prepare monthly Federal and State Reimbursements
- Prepare month end reconciliation reports
- Maintain database of all employees for PDE required annual training
- Maintain, update and process all invoices; econcile accounts receivable
- Prepare, record and receive all special event/catering invoices and payments
- Facilitate equipment maintenance, procurement, and disposal
- Maintain and update all records dealing with USDA commodities and inventory
- Prepare monthly school board report of receipts and disbursements
- Gather and maintain all needed information associated with Free and Reduced Lunch Program and Direct Certification
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Very heavy work: The incumbent should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects
